Enter the calming, open-concept oasis of 12 Stanley Avenue and find yourself surrounded by bright, natural light from the oversized south-facing windows and splashes of color from the mix of mid-century and contemporary furnishings and eclectic art. Gleaming white oak floors flow throughout the space and the combination living-dining room features an Italian marble-top table, perfect for formal dinners or spreading out the newspaper for a casual weekend brunch.

The fully stocked galley kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances is the central hub of the main floor and leads to a cozy nook for relaxing in front of the TV with full cable access. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open to an enclosed deck bathed in afternoon sun.

Upstairs the luxurious surroundings continue, with the exquisite bathroom retreat, complete with heated floors and deep, soaker tub lit from above by an antique crystal candelabra chandelier for the ultimate bubble bath escape. The glass-surround shower stall and its rain-head fixture ensure an invigorating start to the day or a relaxing unwinding at day’s end.

The bathroom leads to an upper deck, shaded on one side by mature trees and offering a western view of spectacular sunsets on the other. Both bedrooms feature inviting, comfortable beds and luxurious linens: a king-sized in the master with windows overlooking Stanley Park, and a queen in the tranquil second bedroom.

An alcove office provides a zen-like private workspace and the basement surprises with its efficient washer-dryer combo and another full-size bathroom with its own soaker tub.

A Haven in Toronto!

Date of Stay:

For all those people who are afraid to rent a home sight unseen, try this beautiful home in Toronto. It is just like the photo and super clean! The beds were very comfortable and plenty of extra linen. The French bakery Nadege is not to be missed and is a quick walk, as is many bars and restaurants. Please eat at Burger Priest you will not be sorry! John the owner makes the phrase "Nice Matters" a reality again! John was so helpful and available to any questions and even printed out our City Pass and brought it right to us in 10 minutes. Check out was also a breeze and our security deposit was returned within 24 hours, the fastest we have ever experienced and we have rented a dozen times over the years. So thank you again for making our trip to Toronto so comfortable and relaxed !

Great neighborhood location

Date of Stay:

Great rental near downtown yet felt like part of the neighborhood. Easily walkable to nearby parks and restaurants. Public transportation less than 2 blocks away. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore the city.

Sensational Stay

Date of Stay:

What we loved. Location. Near Queens and Kings streets. Stanley Park. Walkable to downtown. Breakfast at Nadege. Plenty of room for six. Host thought of everything! Highly recommend! So glad we found it!

Very cute modern house in a bustling fun neighborhood

Date of Stay:

Cute, comfortable modern house. The house is quite compact....but it is well designed and feels very spacious and comfortable. Pretty much every corner is detailed in a clever way. Plenty of nice linens and dishes, very cozy for cooking....although there are way too many nice restaurants around to eat at home. Our kids loved the proximity to the Stanley Park and Trinity Bellwoods. Thank you for hosting us JohnResponse

Perfect home and perfect location.....it's a 10 out of 10 for sure!

Date of Stay:

Before we even arrived at the Stanley Avenue home I knew the experience was going to be a good one; I am still amazed at how quickly John always responded to everyone one of my inquiries and he always was positive and accommodating....thank you so much! Nelson was there to greet us when we arrived and made us feel at home as soon as I walked through the door. Four of us stayed at the Stanley Avenue home for three nights. We were visiting Toronto for my youngest son's wedding and now Stanley Avenue is very much a part of many beautiful memories. It felt like we were at home. There was lots of room to gather in the living room and sit around the family table when other family members showed up to get ready for the wedding I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. The house is beautifully decorated (the pictures are exactly as it is), the kitchen is well equipped and both beds were super comfortable. The upstairs bathroom was large enough for a few of us to be putting on our makeup and doing our hair at the same time. The location doesn't get any better; the house is on a quiet residential street (we did not hear a sound on any of the three nights) but it was also close to everything; just walk around the corner and there are restaurants, stores.....everything you might need is within walking distance. My husband and I have stayed at quite a few vacation rental homes in Canada and Europe; it doesn't get any better than this! If you are looking for a place to stay in Toronto, look no further....it's a 10 out of 10!

This has been our best Airbnb experience so far

Date of Stay:

Thank you John for a wonderful time at your place. This has been our best Airbnb experience so far and we have been traveling staying at Airbnb houses and apartments for the last 6 years all over the place. Johns house is beautiful, stylish and very comfortable and looks exactly as pictured. It fits a family of 4 as ours perfectly. There is not one thing we could think of that was missing and everything in the house was clean and in great condition. John even thought about giving our 2 kids an Easter treat and received a package with winter clothes for them a few days in advance. It was a great home away from home also being very conveniently located only a few minutes away from Queen West with all its speciality shops and the tram. Communication with John has been incredibly easy, too. He answered all our inquiries and questions promptly and made us feel at home at his wonderful place. We'd definitely like to come back on our next trip to Toronto!

If I ever return to Toronto, I'd definitely stay again!

Date of Stay:

John was exceptionally attentive and great at communicating with us the entire time throughout our stay. The place was great and exactly as pictured. The outdoor spaces were excellent and we wish we could've had more time to enjoy them! The house is very tastefully decorated, great artwork, loved the clean/white aesthetic and is well laid out. This was easily one of the nicest Airbnbs that I've stayed at. If I ever return to Toronto, I'd definitely stay again!

The place was beautiful and felt like home.

Date of Stay:

Our host left us a little book of restaurants, activities, and such which was so helpful for those who aren't from Toronto. The place was beautiful and felt like home.

This is quite simply, a beautiful, well designed space

Date of Stay:

This is quite simply, a beautiful, well designed space. It is modern, bright, and open, and was the perfect place for my family. Beyond the space itself, our stay was made more enjoyable by some of the small touches that were part of the package, such as breakfast at Nadège, the useful little house book that was there for us, and the coffee table map of the area. The tub with the candle chandelier was not too shabby either. We will be back for sure.

Beautiful renovated house in a great part of town

Date of Stay:

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this house for 4 nights while in Toronto. The house has been renovated to a high standard and is light and airy and very cosy (in winter). The location is excellent - just a short stroll to queen and king streets where there are restaurants, bars and good shopping. In addition, John was very friendly and helpful and I would gladly stay there again. If you are a larger group, just be aware the 2nd bathroom is a little impractical (very low ceiling and located in the basement), but the house overall is still great and the main bathroom will be sufficient for most (we were 5ppl and it was fine). Happy to recommend!

Heaven in Toronto

Date of Stay:

Sublime! A 5 Star Hotel in a House. Beautifully set out, stylish and comfortable. Close to everywhere you would want to be ; restaurants, galleries, yoga and swimming, shops (top end, medium or cheap), theaters and parks. Quiet, chic and pristine. Perfection. Recommended for: Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway My Response Very kind words Jonathan. It was a pleasure having you for your four month stay here working in Toronto. You and Isobel will always be graciously welcomed back in our home.

Fantastic modern and clean home, in a great location!

Date of Stay:

This house and location exceeded all our expectations. The home was perfect for my family's month stay in Toronto, having everything we needed to be comfortable. John and Nelson were present hosts, yet unobtrusive. This is definitely a 5 stars rental.

Christmas Rental

Date of Stay:

We rented this lovely property over Christmas and could not have been more pleased. The house has been renovated from top to bottom with an eye to detail and high quality finishes. The ground floor is an open airy space and was perfect for hosting family gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped - everything is brand new. John, the owner, very kindly brought in extra serving pieces to accommodate our Christmas dinner needs. The house is located near the downtown core with easy access to public transit and a short drive to major highways. In spite of the urban setting the house is very quiet, situated on a short street adjacent to a large park which we enjoyed with our dog. I would rent this house again in a heartbeat.

Cool Place

Date of Stay:

These guys were wonderful from beginning to end and I would highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone looking for a centrally located oasis. We were walking distance from everywhere we wanted to be, the house was clean and comfortable and our hosts were beyond helpful. This is "the" place to stay in Toronto!

Happy Holiday

Date of Stay:

John & Nelson are sincerely wonderful hosts, they attended to our every need & went the extra mile to make us feel right at home. The property is ideally located next to queen west (restaurants, bars and the best breakfast houses). There is a small park no more than 10 steps away from the front door, and the area is strategically located to maneuver around the city. The townhouse is newly renovated, with ample space for families, and has its own private parking. We loved the plush robes and slippers. Would recommend it for couples and small families.
